My niece sent me pictures of her kids playing in the snow in southeastern Alabama. From the map I think she got 4 to 5 inches. It was snowing so much yesterday they couldn't really have the kids go out and play in it much until today.
I hate the cold so much. I used to like cooler weather, but I think I officially like warmer weather better. It was 46F as the high today here. We just don't do that. I'm not sure we've had weather this cool for this long. It's not extreme cold, just the duration. We won't hit 60F until Saturday. That's our high that day and then thankfully 71F on Sunday.
My house was not built well when it comes to the cold. (single pane windows and so many sliding doors which have gaps which is just how it was built) Heat runs a lot with it set to 67F. I found out today the emergency heat doesn't work, but we don't really use that. Was out a lot today and had the heat off so trying to get it back up was when we kind of noticed there was an issue as the electric coils or whatever didn't seem to work when you set it up a lot higher than the current temperature. Then when turning on the emergency heat it was just blowing cold air. They'll be out to look at that in the morning. At least the heat works, it just has to work extra.
I thought the winter was supposed to be warmer. I'm hoping the back half makes up the difference, lol. |
