March 13, 2020 The Houston Zoo connects communities with animals to inspire action to save wildlife. We recognize that visiting the Zoo is much more than experiencing wildlife up close, but is also an opportunity to enjoy the wonder of the natural world with family and friends. We have been closely monitoring the constantly evolving situation regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and we feel it is our responsibility to do what we can to help reduce the rapid spread of COVID-19.
As a public health precaution to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Houston Zoo is temporarily closing to the public effective today, March 13, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. through April 3, 2020. Our top priority is the health and safety of our staff, guests, volunteers, and the animals in our care. Care is at the heart of our mission and we thank you for your understanding as we all look out for our community and our animals.
Please see below for additional further updates. We promise to keep you connected to the Zoo through our social media accounts while were closed. Please follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. |
