Re: our dog

I just told them this week to not get close to Seymour if they start feeling bad, since our eldest was on antibiotics for an ear infection. It's probably too late by the time they know they're sick, they've already shed the virus. In this case I think his ear infection is bacterial, hard to tell exactly from just a teledoc chat but he's always using ear plugs for work & if not those, then he has ear buds for some device or other. I told him eventually they need air...

Found out the hard way with our last dog that fire ants love their kibbles. That's when we first got the sealing bins, but a smaller version. it has a latch & a gasket on the lid, seals tight enough to keep out small ants & wheels to easily move without having to lift it. I needed a bigger one this time, to store a larger amount of food for longer time. The new one seems to be made more cheaply now, but then isn't everything. He figured out how to open the latch, lifted the lid & had a feast one morning, we had to tun the latching side to the wall so he couldn't get his chin under it any longer or grip it with his teeth.

I'll miss his grooming appointments, I gave away the nail grinder from the last one & we have to keep his paws & nails in good shape, since he'll be prone to leg issues

Pet owners all over our neighborhood have been walking their dogs and walking or riding bikes with their kids since everyone is home. The street & sidewalk is busy with families & pets all day, I've never seen it like this before. It's a shame it takes a pandemic for families to take walks together, but I hope that habit continues.
