Re: America failed to do what it needed to do and things are now likely to get much worse

Chris, thank you for a supremely cogent and complete post. You pretty much say it all. It's depressing as hell, but it's reality. Stop the world; I wanna get off.

Meanwhile our county is meeting April 28 to decide whether or not to re-open Pensacola Beach, and to what extent,if any. Counties all around us are already doing this, supposedly just for exercise purposes, but good luck with enforcing that.

Even with limited hours, re-opened beaches will only encourage visitors, bringing in the virus from afar, whereas right now we have only one COVID-19 case on PBeach. This is not to mention what the congregating visitors will take back home.

And more beach visitors means pressure to re-open island restaurants as well - big mistake and, again, good luck with enforcement, in this case of social distancing. No way.

It's all so insanely ignorant and STUPID I could pull my hair out. What is WRONG with these people?? The president excuses the protesters, saying we should understand that people want to get back to their normal lives. WELL SO DO WE ALL, but what good is "normal" if you and/or your loved ones are dead???
